side frame glazing options
When it comes to making choices regarding your conservatory, the glazing option is easily the most important. It's what most of your conservatory structure is made of, so it's crucial that you make the right glazing decision for you, your home and your lifestyle.
At Canterbury Conservatories we offer you the following side frame glazing options:
standard conservatory glass
Safety is paramount, all of our conservatories are fitted with 28mm toughened double glazed units. Manufactured to BS EN 1279 using 4mm toughened safety glass to BS EN 12600.
low E energy efficient glass
Upgrade from our standard glass option to either our Low E energy efficient glass or Celsius performance glass. Low E energy efficient glass also comes in 28mm toughened double glazed units, but has a protective coating which will keep your conservatory warmer in the winter months and cooler in the summer.
celsius performance glass
For optimum energy efficiency choose Celsius performance glass. With its unique properties, it not only out performs other glass on energy efficiency, but it also features an easy clean coating which reduces the need for cleaning. Celsius performance glass helps keep conservatories cooler in summer (by reflecting excessive solar heat away) as well as warmer in winter (by deflecting heat from inside the home back into the property). It also offers dramatically increased sound insulation.

The figures shown above are for guide purposes only. Slight variations may occur due to glass specification, time of year, manufacturing tolerance, point of manufacture and type of instrumentation used.
Visible Light Transmittance
This is the percentage of visible light directly transmitted through the glass.
Solar Factor
This is the percentage of total solar energy (or heat from the sun) able to pass through the glass.
U-Value
This is used to measure internal heat loss during cooler periods. The lower the number, the greater the insulation.
UV Transmission
Sun damaging UV rays are dramatically reduced, allowing greater protection of your furniture and fabrics.
